NOW Plastics is pleased to announce the introduction of a new degradable polyproplyene
film. This film is one hundred percent degradable and offer the same strength,
clarity, sealablitity and printability as standard BOPP films. Our degrabable
film has excellent puncture and tear resistance and is moderately priced and substanitially
less expensive than compostable films such as PLA which has poor puncture and
tear resistance.
When this film is disposed of in a landfill site, it will degrade in the presence
of oxygen, heat and stress within 12-24 months and even if the film is dropped
as litter it will degrade in sunlight and wind due to mechanical stress. The film
is also recycleable both before and after it is used.
The film complies to both the EU 2002/72 EC and the FDA legislation concerning
plastic in direct contact with food.
